This information is from Marcella Preston Underwood. According to Mt. Vernon, Rockcastle Co., KY courthouse records, Malden Married Margaret Kirby on 09/22/1853. There is also a record for Margaret Hasty to Malden on that same date.

Malden & Malinda married in 1839 in Pulaski Co. They can be located on the 1840 Kentucky Census in Lincoln Co. with no children. However, the female living with him was aged between 15 & 19. That does not fit Belinda's birth year as stated on the 1850 Kentucky Census.

I cannot locate Malden in the 1830 Pulaski Co., KY census. There are 2 Blankenship families, but neither can be Malden. One is James with a young family & the other is Amey - looks like she is a widow with one daughter still at home.

Many other records indicate she was born about 1851. She was not on the 1850 Kentucky Census with the family. She died bone cancer of the hip on 27 November 1917 at the age of 66 in Boyle Co., KY. Her death certificate gives her father's name as Malvin & her mother's name as Flora in error. Her birth date was given as 02/12/1848 by Mrs. Annie Stringer. She was buried on 29 November 1917 in Buffalo Springs Cemetery, Stanford, Lincoln Co., KY. Death certificate states birth date as Feb. 1848. I don't think this is correct as she did not appear on the 1850 Kentucky Census & the 1860 census stated she was 9 years old.
