Nathan married a woman by the name of "Jane". There are absolutely no records on this woman at all. The only two pieces of data on this woman are the marriage records of her daughters Amanda and Sarah. Both of these records show that their mother was born in Wayne Co., KY. Amanda married Milford Perkins Elliott and Sarah married William D Elliott. These two Elliott men were brothers. The older and much more knowledgeable generations of my family tell me that Amanda Buchanan was 1/2 Cherokee Indian and to look at the pictures of her, there is no doubt. The name "Jane" has been used multiple times for Indian women who married white men. My older family members also told me that Amanda made an agreement with Milford Perkins Elliott to basically obey his every wish and do whatever work needed to be done if he would marry her because nobody would show kindness to her.
