Central Record Obit, (03/30/1906): On Friday, the 23rd, as the shadows of night were dropping their curtains, the cold cruel hand of death unlinked the life of Clara Houston to relink in that sweet, celestial home when He bids them "come" the alluring call they cannot resist. Just about one year ago, she was left in the somber darkness of widowhood. She then went to live with one of her daughters, thinking it lonely to live alone. She was stricken with appoplexy a few weeks ago and it was thought then death would soon follow but for some purpose the Lord let her stay with those broken hearted ones a little longer. She was reported better and all were helped up with the thought of her recovery. She then had a change for the worse and soon passed away. She was a refined lady, who was loved by most all who knew her. The remains were laid to rest in Mt. Olivet Cemetery where a large crowd of loved ones who assembled to pay their last tribute of respect to one of the grandest, most noble women Central Kentucky ever knew. She leaves four children, Mrs. Sallie, and Rosa Kaufman, Mr. Will Becker of Indiana, Mr. Charley Becker of Bryantsville. The lovely character and disposition of Mrs. Huston will never be forgotten. The bereaved family have the deepest sympathy of the people, who join in mourning the great loss. Funeral services were conducted at Mt. Olivet Sunday at one o'clock. One Who Loved Her.

Floral offerings beautiful. Mrs Huston is well known having been in the merchandise business for a number of years, but at the time of her death was living with her daughter Mrs Kaufman. She was the mother of Mr C C Becker of Bryantsville. Mrs Huston was a devoted Christian, for years a member of Methodist Church. Clara was buried in Mt Olivet Cemetery, Buena Vista, Garrard Co., KY.
