Mr. Alverson was born in Jessamine county near Sulphur Well, and had lived here all of his life. He was a blacksmith, a good workman, and has a large number of friends. Surviving him are his mother, Mrs. Emily Alverson, aged 90 years, who lives at Hanley, two sisters, Sallie and Louella; three brothers, Henry and Smith Alverson, of Jessamine county, and John Alverson, of St. Joseph, Mo; also six children, two sons, Stanley and Welch Alverson, of Jessamine county, four daughters, Misses Lois, Lillian, Grace and Edna, and his wife. The funeral services were held at the Methodist church Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. J. E. Moss. Interment in Maple Grove Cemetery. ALVERSON, STANLEY Stanley (Whitey) Alverson, 74, of 103 Depot Street, Nicholasville, a well-known figure in downtown Nicholasville, died Monday, January 12, 1976. He was employed by the Hunter S&T Store for 42 years before his retirement in the Sports Department, which was appropriate to his life position as a hunter and fisherman. He was a son of the late Thomas and Fannie Brooks Alverson and a member of the Nicholasville Methodist Church. Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. E. N. Newman, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Mrs. William Gorham, Lexington; and Miss Edna Alverson, Jessamine County; a brother, Welch Alverson, Lexington; several nieces and nephews and cousins. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Guyn, Kurtz, Hager and Cundiff Funeral Home by Rev. Howard Reynolds. Burial was in the Maple Grove Cemetery.
