Frederick ZIMMERMAN died on 11 December 1804. Article by Clyde Bunch - Frederick Zimmerman was one of George Rogers Clark's men. He came to Jessamine Co. from Orange Co., VA. He was one of the most interesting persons to settle here. Zimmerman was the first county surveyor and surveyed the line that separates Fayette & Jessamine Counties. He also drew the first plat of Nicholasville in 1803, that laid the town out into 110 lots. He was also a lover of horses which, unfortunately, led to his death. He was killed December 11, 1804 when he was thrown from his horse. Zimmerman was a brother-in-law to Co. John Price. He was also a maker of gravestones.
