Cawby are laid to rest in the cemetery today, one of the links connecting the romantic days of stage coach and wayside inn with the matter-of-fact age of trolley cars and sky-scraper hotels will disappear. Mr. Cawby was sixty-four years old, and was a native of Jessamine County. In his younger days he drove a stage coach between Nicholasville and Danville, and was numbered among the expert whips of the day. The exposure caused him to contact a cough which later settled in his lungs. He moved to Lexington about eighteen years ago, and had been living with his son, E. L. Cawby, at 204 West Maxwell Street. Several weeks ago his youngest son, Charles, died at the St. Joseph's Hospital of typhoid fever, and it is thought that grief hastened his death. Mr. Cawby is survived by three children. Mrs. Susie Diamond and Mr. William T. Cawby, of Evansville, and Mr. Edward L. Cawby, of this city. The funeral will be from the residence, 204 West Maxwell Street, this afternoon at 3 o'clock.
